Lindisfarne

La folk band inglese dei Lindisfarne fu formata nel 1968 a Newcastle in Inghilterra dal cantante Alan Hull, dal chitarrista Simon Cowe, dal mandolinista Ray Jackson, dal bassista Rod Clements

e dal batterista Ray Laidlaw. Lontano dalle loro intenzioni, la band fu salutata come un gruppo importante del rock progressivo del tempo quando uscì l'LP di debutto “Nicely Out of Tune”. Con il compositore Hull considerato alla pari di Bob Dylan, la band crebbe quando rilasciò “Fog On The Tyne” nel 1971. Continuò a registrare dischi durante gli anni 70 e 80, ma non fu più capace di ripetere il successo iniziale.
